Animal Control investigates animal cruelty complaints, enforces humane laws, issues citations and appears in court cases. Animal Control services are meant not only to protect the public from potentially harmful animals, but more importantly to educate individuals on how to prevent hazardous conditions and protect animals that can’t protect themselves. The Animal Control officer works together with the community to protect one another as well as innocent animals through responsible care compassion and awareness.
Call 706-282-3275 to report Animal Control problems. After hours, holidays and weekends - emergency calls only should be made to 911.
If you have lost your animal, you need to visit the animal shelter located at 1747 Scenic Drive to positively identify and reclaim them. Please bring proof of ownership (vet records, photos of animal) to assist in our verification of your ownership of the animal. The shelter is open Tuesday- Saturday to reclaim animals.
